The contributors

Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem is a new initiative of the European Space Agency and the European Commission that revolutionizes the world of EO data processing and distribution. The project is being implemented by a consortium that includes T-Systems as a leader, CloudFerro, Sinergise, VITO, DLR, ACRI-ST, and RHEA. The new ecosystem will include one of the largest public EO data repositories in the world which is estimated to grow to 85 petabytes of EO data, and the CREODIAS platform, which is the first commercial element of the ecosystem, providing cloud services for EO data processing. The new service will certainly provide new opportunities for service providers, and create a long-term impact on European science, economy, and society. As a contributor to this important initiative, we are happy to be a Sector Mover Partner of the EXPANDEO event.

The SDGs-EYES Research and Innovation Action aims at boosting the European capacity for monitoring Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) based on Copernicus through building a portfolio of decision-making tools. The focus is on the monitoring of seven SDGs indicators related to the environment from an inter-sectoral perspective, aligning with EU Green Deal priorities and challenges.

SDGs-EYES aims at bringing together research and industry experts together with different stakeholders communities to build a scientific, technological and user engagement framework for monitoring SDGs indicators.

PCP WISE is a Pre-commercial Procurement (PCP) action funded by the European Commission’s Horizon Europe Programme and selected under the call HORIZON-CL6-2024-GOVERNANCE-01-5. PCP WISE plays a key role in advancing the European Green Deal’s objectives by enhancing the use of Environmental Observation (EO), data and products. The project started in January 2025 and runs for 36 months. PCP WISE has an allocated budget of €19 million, including €12 million for financing the R&D phases of the PCP.

PCP WISE is an innovative project aimed at developing cutting-edge solutions (up to TRL 8) for water management and climate resilience across Europe using the PCP instrument. By leveraging space technology and EO data, PCP-WISE seeks to address critical challenges related to floods, fires, and infrastructure impacts both in rural an urban areas. This collaborative effort brings together public buyers, research institutions, and industry experts to create and implement advanced climate services that will enhance Europe’s ability to adapt to and mitigate the effects of climate change.
