FIRE - European forum for Earth Observation
FIRE is shaping the research and innovation strategy for Earth Observation in Europe through open dialogue with industry experts from six focus sectors - agriculture, energy, infrastructure, marine, raw materials, and urban development. It is the first initiative fully dedicated to bringing actors from key commercial sectors together to outline the now and tomorrow of their market and to use these insights to shape a strategic roadmap for the EO downstream sector. HOW: The user dialogue is fostered through two rounds of industry-led focus group discussions and two FIRE Forum events. Alongside the focus groups and FIRE Forum events, user dialogue is enabled through the “EO Evangelists” programme - a novel concept where professionals across the FIRE sectors advocate the benefits of EO to their peers, becoming “EO influencers” or “ambassadors” and spreading the EO benefit message within communities of non-EO stakeholders. WHO: The coordinator EARSC partnered with Evenflow and Verhaert – SMEs supporting innovation and user uptake – and the National Observatory of Athens. Each sector is led by the industry - COPA-COGECA for agriculture, WindEurope or energy, VIA – Vital Infrastructure Arena for infrastructure, Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique for marine, SMURBS project for Urban development, and EIT Raw Materials for raw materials. Would you like to know who are the EO Evangelists of each sector? Join the FIRE Forum and meet all our the EO ambassadors on the 16th of June at 10.30 CEST!
